Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to your use of the Auto Temp Services website and any mobile auto air conditioning, transport refrigeration, auto electrical repair or accessory installation services supplied by Auto Temp Services.

By using our website, requesting a quote, making a booking or authorising us to begin work, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Business Information

Business name: Auto Temp Services
ABN: 27 623 595 488
Phone: 0406 239 107
Email: ats.autotempservices@gmail.com
Service area: Melbourne, Geelong and surrounding Victorian areas

2. Our Services

Auto Temp Services provides mobile services that may include:

  • Auto air conditioning inspections and diagnostics
  • Vehicle air conditioning servicing, regassing and repairs
  • Transport refrigeration servicing and repairs
  • Auto electrical fault diagnosis and repairs
  • Automotive wiring services
  • Electrical accessory installations
  • Mobile assistance for cars, 4WDs, trucks and commercial vehicles

The availability of a particular service depends on the vehicle, system, location, parts availability, required equipment and nature of the fault.

Refrigerated truck rentals are planned as a future service. Separate rental terms and conditions will apply once this service becomes available.

3. Mobile Service Area

Auto Temp Services currently operates as a mobile business across Melbourne, Geelong and surrounding areas.

Customers must provide the correct service address when requesting a booking. Service availability may vary depending on travel distance, technician availability, traffic, weather, site access and the type of work required.

We may decline or reschedule a booking where the location is outside our service area or unsuitable for safely completing the work.

4. Quotes and Estimates

Any quote or estimate is based on the information available when it is prepared.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, a quote may not include:

  • Additional faults discovered during diagnosis
  • Parts not reasonably identifiable before inspection
  • Extra labour resulting from restricted access
  • Previous poor-quality or unauthorised repairs
  • Damage hidden behind panels or components
  • Additional travel outside the agreed service area
  • Work requested after the original quote
  • Third-party services or specialist repairs

A quote remains valid for the period stated on the quote. If no validity period is stated, pricing may be reviewed before the booking is confirmed.

5. Diagnostic Work

Vehicle air conditioning, refrigeration and electrical faults are not always identifiable from the customer’s initial description.

Diagnostic time may be chargeable even where:

  • The fault is intermittent
  • The vehicle does not display the fault during inspection
  • Further dismantling or testing is required
  • The customer decides not to proceed with the recommended repair
  • The fault requires another specialist or workshop
  • The required part is unavailable

Payment for diagnosis does not guarantee that the fault can be repaired during the same appointment.

6. Authorisation of Work

We will only perform the work authorised by the customer or an authorised representative.

Where additional faults or required repairs are discovered, we will make reasonable efforts to obtain approval before performing significant additional work.

Approval may be provided verbally, by telephone, email, text message, online form or another agreed communication method.

Minor adjustments reasonably necessary to complete authorised work may be performed without separate approval where they do not materially increase the agreed cost.

7. Customer Responsibilities

The customer must:

  • Provide accurate vehicle, fault and location information
  • Confirm that they own the vehicle or have authority to approve the work
  • Provide safe and reasonable access to the vehicle
  • Ensure the vehicle is located on stable and accessible ground
  • Keep children, pets and unauthorised persons away from the work area
  • Remove valuable or fragile items where necessary
  • Disclose known faults, modifications and previous repairs
  • Provide keys, access codes or operating instructions where required
  • Ensure sufficient space is available to inspect and service the vehicle
  • Follow reasonable safety instructions provided by the technician

We may stop or refuse work where the location, vehicle or surrounding conditions create an unreasonable safety risk.

8. Appointments and Arrival Times

Appointment times are estimates and may be affected by traffic, weather, previous jobs, emergencies, parts delays or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We will make reasonable efforts to inform the customer of significant delays.

The customer must ensure that the vehicle and authorised contact person are available at the agreed location and time.

9. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Customers should provide as much notice as reasonably possible when cancelling or rescheduling a booking.

A reasonable call-out, cancellation or travel charge may apply where:

  • The technician has already travelled to the location
  • The customer is unavailable at the agreed time
  • The vehicle cannot be accessed
  • Incorrect location or vehicle details were supplied
  • The booking is cancelled after parts have been specially ordered
  • The work area is unsafe or unsuitable
  • The technician is prevented from beginning the authorised service

Any applicable fee will be communicated during booking, in a quote or before being charged.

10. Call-Out and Travel Charges

A call-out or travel charge may apply depending on the location, distance, service type and appointment requirements.

Any known call-out charge will be communicated before the booking is confirmed where reasonably practical.

Additional travel charges may apply if the supplied address is incorrect or the customer asks us to attend a different location.

11. Pricing and Payment

Prices may include labour, diagnosis, travel, refrigerant, parts, materials, consumables and applicable taxes, as specified in the quote or invoice.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • Payment is due when the service is completed
  • Special-order parts may require advance payment or a deposit
  • Commercial account payment terms must be approved separately
  • The customer is responsible for authorised additional work
  • The customer must pay using an accepted payment method

The customer must notify us promptly if they believe an invoice contains an error.

12. Deposits and Special-Order Parts

A deposit or full advance payment may be required before we order specialised, customised or non-returnable parts.

Deposits relating to specially ordered parts may not be refundable where:

  • The order has already been placed
  • The supplier does not accept returns
  • The part was ordered specifically for the customer’s vehicle
  • The customer supplied incorrect vehicle information
  • The customer cancels after approving the order

Nothing in this section limits any rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.

13. Parts and Components

Parts may be new, reconditioned or customer-supplied, depending on what has been agreed.

Where a particular brand or part is unavailable, we will seek approval before using a materially different alternative.

Parts remain the property of Auto Temp Services until all related invoices have been paid in full, to the extent permitted by law.

Removed parts may be discarded unless the customer asks to retain them before the work is completed, provided it is lawful and safe to return them.

14. Customer-Supplied Parts

We may agree to install a part supplied by the customer, but we do not guarantee:

  • Its quality or condition
  • Its compatibility with the vehicle
  • That it is the correct part
  • The accuracy of the supplier’s description
  • Any manufacturer or seller warranty
  • Labour required to remove and replace a defective supplied part

Additional labour charges may apply if a customer-supplied component is incorrect, defective, incomplete or unsuitable.

Our responsibility for installation workmanship is separate from responsibility for the quality or performance of the customer-supplied part.

15. Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Services

The customer acknowledges that air conditioning and refrigeration faults may involve leaks, electrical failures, damaged components, contamination, previous repairs or multiple connected issues.

A refrigerant regas alone may not resolve an underlying fault.

Where inspection identifies a leak, damaged component or unsafe system condition, further repairs may be recommended before the system can be returned to normal operation.

Cooling performance may also be affected by conditions outside the work performed, including vehicle design, ambient temperature, insulation, airflow, door seals and unrelated mechanical faults.

16. Electrical and Accessory Installations

Electrical repairs and accessory installations depend on vehicle condition, wiring layout, accessory compatibility and manufacturer specifications.

The customer must disclose existing modifications, aftermarket equipment and known electrical faults.

Auto Temp Services is not responsible for faults caused by:

  • Defective or incompatible customer-supplied accessories
  • Existing wiring damage
  • Undisclosed modifications
  • Previous incorrect installations
  • Overloading caused by equipment added after our work
  • Misuse or unauthorised alteration of the installation

17. Existing and Unrelated Faults

Vehicles may contain existing faults, wear, corrosion, damage or previous repairs unrelated to the requested service.

Auto Temp Services is not responsible for an existing or unrelated defect merely because it becomes apparent during or after our work.

Where we identify another fault, we may notify the customer and recommend further inspection or repair.

18. Service Outcomes

We will provide services with due care and skill.

However, we cannot guarantee that:

  • Every intermittent fault will appear during inspection
  • Every fault can be repaired at the customer’s location
  • Parts will be immediately available
  • A single repair will resolve multiple unrelated faults
  • An old or damaged system will perform like a new system
  • Further faults will not develop after the service

Where additional workshop equipment or another specialist is required, we may recommend an appropriate next step.

19. Workmanship, Warranties and Consumer Rights

Any express workmanship or parts warranty will be stated on the relevant quote, invoice or warranty document.

Manufacturer or supplier warranties may apply to eligible parts.

The customer should contact Auto Temp Services promptly if they believe there is a problem with completed work and provide a reasonable opportunity for us to inspect the vehicle.

These Terms and Conditions do not exclude, restrict or modify any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

20. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Auto Temp Services is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from:

  • Vehicle downtime
  • Lost business, revenue or deliveries
  • Spoiled or damaged cargo
  • Missed appointments
  • Replacement vehicle expenses
  • Delays caused by unavailable parts
  • Faults outside the scope of authorised work

Customers operating refrigerated vehicles remain responsible for monitoring cargo temperature and taking reasonable steps to protect temperature-sensitive goods.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

21. Delays and Events Outside Our Control

We are not responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including:

  • Severe weather
  • Traffic disruption
  • Road closures
  • Illness or emergencies
  • Supplier delays
  • Parts shortages
  • Equipment failure
  • Government restrictions
  • Unsafe site conditions

Where practical, we will contact the customer and arrange another appointment.

22. Commercial Customers

Commercial customers are responsible for ensuring that the person requesting or authorising work has authority to act for the business.

Additional account, purchase-order, fleet-service or payment terms may apply to commercial customers where agreed in writing.

The customer remains responsible for monitoring vehicles, refrigeration temperatures, delivery schedules and business operations before, during and after the service.

Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts or tribunals with jurisdiction in Victoria, subject to any rights available under applicable consumer laws.

29. Changes to These Terms

Auto Temp Services may update these Terms and Conditions to reflect changes to its services, website, operating practices or legal obligations.

The latest version will be published on this page with its updated date.

Changes will not remove rights that have already arisen under an existing agreement or applicable law.
